validation summary SCIAMACHY OL 3.01 cloud fraction is an "effective" cloud fraction. The values on average differ from FRESCO sc-v5 by only 0.02, with a RMS difference of 0.08. Cloud fraction distributions over the globe are very similar between the two retrieval methods.
